MY INTERVENTION AFTER TSUNAMI - DECEMBER 2004 TO DECEMBER 2005

THE BIRHT OF DON BOSCO THARANGAM AT THARANGAMPADI, NAGAPATTINAM

Tsunami had struck the Tamil coasts on the 26th of December 2004. The very same day a team from Salem Don Bosco Anbu Illam left for Nagappattinam. They were Fr. santhanam, Mr. Xavier, and senior boys Raja, Raju and Kanagaraj. They were at Vellankanni in rescuing body for two days.
Later they moved to Tharangambadi, help had not reached even after the third day. Fr. Rayan the Director of salem Anbu illam brought the whole team of staff to Tharangambadi for a month to serve the affected.
While at Tharangambadi, the Team members met CESVI from ITALY, who wanted to work in collaboration with Don Bosco and so it was agreed to work with the funds from CESVI. And a team of 15 people were formed with Baskar as co-coordinator.
Accordingly Tents were provided. Repairs or boats and Engineer were done. 57 New boats and Engines were given. 300 (valla valai) nets were provided. 300 fishing tools were provided to women to buy and sell fish. 3 Over Head water tanks were built in Tharangambadi, Kuttiyandiyur and Rajiv puram. New water lines and water pumps were laid.
Children and youth were paid special attention. Special Educational support was given to children. Youth were given formal and Non-formal technical training. It was decided that Salem Don Bosco anbu illam, will continue community Building and community organization, psychological services will we done by Coimbatore Anbu illam and Technical Training will be done by Don Bosco ITC, Madurai.
Tsunami is a familiar word today, because often we hear and speak about it. This event caused death destruction and unimaginable human sufferings. The enormous devastation and lost of life associated with the above earth quake and tidal wave in south Asia is most shocking! Thousands became orphaned their life and livelihood was destroyed. Governmental and non-governmental organizations reached out with their immediate relief measures. The need to reach out to the unreached is very much important. At this juncture it is important to work out for the long term rehabilitation programs for the victims of Tsunami.
Tsunami has washed away thousands of lives, but has left on the shore human solidarity and generosity. The greatest form of love and solidarity was shown to our brothers through service. On 26th of January 2005 the team of Bro. Chinnappa raj Trichy amsam, Mr. Nicholas and Mr. Johnpeter from Madurai Don Bosco ITI was sent by provincial. They found the youngsters energetic and enthusiastic about learning. They submitted the report to the vocational team of Rev Fr. Casmir raj, Rev Fr. Arul maran and Rev Fr. Rayan. They too visited and decided to start the technical training center.
Thus the ITI Don Bosco was started in Tharangambadi village. The Panchayat president Mr. Kaliyaperumal and his team offered a vacant building to be used as a technical training center to the young boys and girls in the affected area and its surrounding villages. The vocational team appointed
Rev. Fr. Casimir Raj as Director and
Rev. Bro. Chinnappa Raj as principal.
Trades for boys are: Electronics, Electrician, Diesel Mechanics, Boat repairs and Engine repair.
Trades for Girls are: Tailoring Embroidery and Handicrafts.
Apart from skill training life coping skills and different activities are conducted on Saturdays and to buildup their self esteem and motivation.

Rev. Frs. Arul maran, Rayan, Casmir Raj, Santhanam and Bro. Chinnapparaj, Mr. Nicholas came to visit and to establish centers in different place.


08.02.05
Rev.Fr. Casmir Raj Director of ITI came together with two of the S.M.I sisters Lisy Rose and Lizann to collaborate with Don Bosco ITI to take care of the women section through tailoring, Handicraft and home visitation. He also brought along with his two of the staff for Electronic and Electrician Sekar and Dhanapal .9 tailoring machines from Don Bosco Dindugal and 7 from S.M.I Madurai were brought on this day.

09.02.05.
We kept the first day for the orientation meeting. Around 95 girls and 85 boys were gathered at 10.00am for this meeting. Rev Fr. Casmir Raj and Fr. Christy talked to them on these rights, duties and the dignity and value of each human being. Then they were divided into different groups for the classes.
Boys were divided into (1) Electronics (2) Electrician and (3) Diesel mechanic.
Girls were divided in to 5 groups for tailoring and Handicrafts. Each group was informed about the timing of their classes.

All the section began with short meeting and they were given talks by Rev. Fr. Casmir raj, Rev. Fr. Eugine(s.j) and Bro. Chinnappa raj. In each section we conducted an ice breaking session to introduction each others and to come out of their cell.
11.02.05.
Mr. Johnson staff for Diesel Mechanic came from Lalgudi Don Bosco ITI service. We planned to divide the girls for new training skills such as Handicraft and Electronics.
12.02.05.
There were around 108 girls and 90 boys gathered at 10.00 am for the animation programmed. Rev. Bro. Chinnappa raj enlighten the girls and boys on the value of life and the importance of being happy the new course for girls such as handicraft and electronics. Since no girls were interested in electronics they were divided for handicraft and tailoring. New teacher for tailoring Miss.Sankari joined this day as a staff.
16.02.05.
Even though classes began on 9th on ward the ITI center was inaugurated officially on 16th Feb 2005 by salesian provincial Rev, Fr. Amal raj susai of Trichy province. The village leaders were invited on the main guests for the function. The function took place according to the custom of the place. The ceremony began with cutting the ribbon by the provincial Rev. Fr. Amal raj susai and lighting the lamp by the important guests, followed by a prayer dance.
19.02.05.
All the boys gathered in the hall at 10.00 am and all the girls gathered at 2.00 pm for the animation programmed. Bro. Dominic sdb was the resource person. He conducted many concentration games and creativity games through which he explained the importance of bringing up their creation talents, grew up work, concentration in work etc. After each game he gave a meaningful moral talk.

Mr. Anto Davis trainer for Diesel mechanics from Lalgudi joined the Don Bosco ITI staff.
22.02.05.
Rev. Fr. Casmir raj director of ITI returned from Madurai for a week stay in Tharangambadi for settled every thing in order. He gave a short mortal talk to the boys and girls in the ITI center. We noticed that some of the girls and dropping out because of their sudden marriages.
25.02.05.
S.M.I provincial secretary and councilor Sr, Jancy George, provincial economer and councilor Sr.Daisy Andrade visited the Don Bosco ITI center and the neighboring villages. They met director Rev. Fr. Casmir raj and Principal Bro. Chinnappa raj. They stayed with us one day.


26.02.05.
Boys had their animation programmed in the morning and girls had in the afternoon. It was conducted by Rev. Fr, Thampuraj from Trichy director of vazhikatti. He spoke to the girls and boys about family life employment, their responsibility in the society in an interesting way through fun and jokes. There was a tea break for all the participants in between. All the boys and girls were enriched and onlightend by the talk.
28.02.05.
Sisters of st. luica of Madurai came with 16 Tailoring machines and things needed for permalpettai the new tailoring center. After lunch they went back to madurai . Tailoring teacher for Perumal pettai Miss, Selva kumari form Poraiyar joined the staff.
01.03.05.
F.M.A. Provincial and councilor visited Tharangambadi ITI center. Bro .Stephan from Kuthankuli, Thrunelvali joined the staff. He oversees the work is Chandrabadi center.
02.03.05.
The inauguration ceremony of Chandrabadi ITI center took place. Village president Mr, Selvam, Mr.Natarajan Director of ITI Rev. Fr. Casmir raj, provincial Rev. Bro. Chinnppa raj and the staff were present for the inauguration. After the inauguration and a week stay Rev. Fr, Casmir raj went back to Madurai.
05.03.05.
Boys had their animation programmed in the morning. Mr. susai raj (Police fire service) was called to give the talk. He explained to the boys about the qualifications needed for the selection of police department, its rules and regulation etc. After that they had the volleyball match. Girls had their classes and practices.


07.03.05.
Secretary of women and family welfare association for maduraj dioceses Sr. Selva mani Sr. Nancy, S.M.I. superior of Madurai and Sr. Amala arrived along with Rev. Fr, Casmir raj . We kept this day as the inauguration day of Perumal pettai tailoring center. The village leaders, Rev, Fr, Casmir raj director, Sr. Selva rani Sr. Nancy Sr. Amala .Sr, Lisy rox, Bro. Chinnappa rai principal and the staff took part in the opening ceremony. The 3center were informed about the women’s day celebration which is going to take place on 8th march.

More than two hundred girls from these center Tharangambadi, Chandrabadi and Perumal pettai. Participate women’s day celebrations which were conducted in a marriage hall Tharangambadi. Sr. selvamani secretary of woman and family welfare commission for madurai diocese was the resource person. Rev, Fr, Casmir raj director, Bro. chinnappa raj principal, Miss .Susheela women’s leader, Sr,. Nancy S.M.I. Madurai superior were the main guests. Sr . Selva mani gave a talk on social empowerment. How a women can be a leader to build up a society. she emphases on the vision and dream to build up the society , confidence and the need to be independent. We also conducted a variety of games and cultural programmed. prizes first, second, third were distributed for the winners by Rev. Fr, Casmir raj,Sr, Selvamani and Sr, Nancy respectively Mrs, Susheela village women’s leader congratulated and appreciated for conducting the programmed as this was one of the first women’s day celebration took place in Tharangambadi . All the girls were encouraged and enriched by the programmed.

B. Baskaran Bsc Tech.General manager and director of industries and commerce of Nagappattinam, and Employment officer visited the Tharangambadi center for inspection of ITI Don Bosco .They said to the boys and girls to make use of the chance given by Don Bosco ITI. They will try to give government certificate for the course. They appreciated the work that we are doing for the enlistment of youth. Rev, Fr, Casmir raj gave vote of thanks to them. In the evening Fr. Casmir raj, sr, selva rani and Sr, Nancy returned back to madurai.

We started self-cooking according to everyone’s suggestion since our food which we take from outside was not good enough.
12.03.05.
On Saturday boys and girls hand the classes as usually followed by the animation programmed for one hour by Rev, Fr . De- sales one of the Tsunami relief work team from kanyakumari . He gave a talk on time management.
13.03.05.
Mr, Johnson motor Diesel mechanic went back to his respective place in lalgudi ITI. Along with him 7 boys from different villages went to Trichy for training in driving. Rev. Fr.Casmir raj came in the evening. Mr, John paul joined the staff as Electrician.

New teacher for tailoring Miss. Brabhavathy joined the staff.
19.03.05.
Director of employment and training from Delhi, Rev. Fr.Susai Headmaster of Don Bosco ITI. Assistant parish priests of madurai Rev. Fr. Joe auguestine, Fr. Arnald makesh ,Bro. Bernard shah and Bro. Hentry Dominic of Madurai ITI visited the centers along with Rev. Fr. Casmir raj.

We bid farewell to Mr. Nicholas and Sr. Lizyam for their self less service the Tsunami victims for 2 months.
Mr. Nicholas ,Sr. Lizyam and Rose went for Easter holidays to madurai.

Mr. Dhanpal ,Mr. Anto Davis, Mr. Shekar and Mrs. John mary left home for Easter holidays .

Rev. Fr. Casmir and Rose arrived after Easter holidays along with Sr. Julie S.M.I as the new member to help in the ITI.

Mr. Arockiaya rai and Mr. Arjunan arrived as the mew staffs of Don Bosco ITI at chinnagudi.

Bro. Stephen and Sr. Julie participated in the prayer meeting ad silent procession for the deposited soul of pope John paul 2nd in our parish.
Miss. Pramila from Chidambaram arrived as the new teacher of Don Bosco ITI. She is posted at Tharangambadi tailoring center.
Rev. Bro. Chinnappa raj principal went to Trichy for two days.

Rev. Bro. Chinnappa raj returned to Tharangambadi.

Rev. Fr. Casmir raj arrived together with Sr. Chyya SMI as the new member of Tsunami rehabilitation work.

All the ITI staff along with Fr. Casmir Bro.chinnappa raj principal, Rev. Fr. George went to vellankkanni as the pilgrimage. Rev. Fr . George offered mass at veilankanni for all of us.
11.04.05.
The boat repairing group from Orissa completed the work at Chandrabadi and shifted to Thazhampet.
Rev. Fr. Casmir refused to Madurai.
13.04.05.
Farewell programmed was conduct for Bro. Stephen with a meaning full prayer service and thanks giving.
14.04.05.
A one day seminar on concealing was conducted by Rev. Fr. Peter SDB for all the staff of Don Bosco ITI at Tharangambadi and also for Salem Anbu Illam Group. Rev. Fr. Casmir was present for the seminar.

Rev. Bro. Stephen left from Tharangambadi to take over his new assignment at

Rev. Bro. chinnappa raj and Bro. Dominic went to collector ate at Nagapatinam to get permission for the forth coming programmed on careers guidance for all our ITI boys on 28th April and also for the approval of certificate. Mr. Rube Prasad and other recourse person agreed to come and grew the occasion.

Rev. Fr. Patrick , Fr. Bosco and Fr. Alphonse visited ITI from Chennai province to begin the skill training in Karikal.
26.04.05.
Rev. Fr. Casmir raj director came along with a staff form Don Bosco ITI Pudur and visited the entire center.
We had a grant celebration of Birthday of Rev Bro. chinnapparaj principal. His aunty Rev.Sr. Scholarka from Chennai participated in the celebration.

A careers guidance youth meeting was conduct in Tharangambadi marriage hall. The collector village president and invited guest were present for the meeting. Around 300 boys participated in the meeting and they were provided with meals.

May- 2005

We invited the boat repairing group for a lunch with us.

4 FMA sisters form Trichy visited us as a friendly visit.

Rev . Fr. Scholasfica and mary came to stay with us from Chennai. We enjoyed their company for two days.

Rev. Fr.Rayan along with two sisters of providence from salem visited all the centers. They stayed with us two days.

Sr. Lissy Rose returned to Tharangambadi after 20 days from Andra pradash.
17.05.05.
Rev. Fr. Casmir raj the director came to visit us. He met all the departments separate. He also visited all the centers and spoke to the students on the rationality of the mission which is carried out now.

Rev. Fr. Vasghere and Xavier packiyam SDB from Chennai province came for a friendly visit.

The new boat making programmed was inaugurated with a prayer by Rev.Fr.Casmir Bro. chinnapparaj and Bro. Britto were present for prayer. The planning in the 57 boats to be made and pee boat coasts 85,000 Rupees.

Mr. Shekar Electrician teacher left Tharangambadi after completing the center for 3 months.
Sr.Nancy SMI reached Tharangambadi along with postulant Lilly as a new member to carry out the Tsunami mission.

Sr. Chhya left for Delhi after completed her mission in Tharangambadi. Sr. Lissy rose, Nancy and Lilly went to purchase the sarees for ITI girls.

Rev. Fr. Casmir raj and Fr. Rayan came along with Ex- vice provincial Rev. Fr. Marcel and the present vice provincial Rev. Fr. Thommai for a spot visit. They visited 4 places to see the land. They also visited the centers of Tharangambadi and Chandrabadi and also the boat making work shop.
June-2005

The District Employment offer Mr.Kalai selvam distributed certificate for Don Bosco ITI students who have completed three months. Rev. Fr. Casmir raj and Rev. Bro. chinnappa raj principal were present during the function. 62 students from Tharangambadi and Chandrabadi for the trader of electrician technician, Electronic and Diesel mechanic received the certificated.
Rev. Fr. Casmir Raj returned to maduraj.

Being completed the 3 months course the students of Chandrabadi village are given opportunity to start a workshop in the village it self as a entrepreneurial Development programmed.

Mr. Kurian from SIFFS NGO came along with other co-ordination to visit our center at Tharangambadi and had a discussion with Rev Bro. chinnapparaj and Sr.Rose about the activates which can be collaborated with each other.

Coaching classes began for 10th failed students.

Rev. Bro. chinnapparaj went to his community at Thanjavur for a meeting.

Rev.Fr. chinnapparaj returned from Thanjavur.

Rev. Fr. Rayan and Fr. Casmir arrived Tharangambadi along with Sr. Victoria and Sr. Usha of St.Charles Boromeo to visit our center and our activites.
Sr. Ranjitham, the new members for Tsunami rehabilitation work arrived with Sr. Nancy.

Lilly (postulant) returned to maduraj after completing her mission.
Rev. Fr. Rayan, Fr. Felix, Fr. Casmir Raj Bro. chinnappa Raj along with Ranjitham and Rose and other members of Anbu illam distributed the note books and other necessarily item for school children of village Chandrabadi, prumal pettai, Chinnagudi , Kumarkudi etc.
We started beautician course on Tharangambadi with 25 girls. The teacher is appointed from Perumal pettai village named Jaya Lakshmi who has finished the beautician course in Madurai. Rev. Fr. Casmir Raj and Rev. Fr. Rayan invited the girls about the importance of the course.

Rev.Fr. Rayan returned to Salem.
The new tailoring teacher ms .vasuki arrived from Tharangambadi. Ms. Vasuki is posted at our center at Tharangambadi.
Rev. Fr. Antony Joseph the provincial economic visited in Tharangambadi and the entire center.
17.06.05.
Rev.Fr. Casmir Raj conducted meeting with Rev. Bro. Chinnpparai, Basker, Sr. Ranjitham and Rose during the meeting. We discussed about our future plan especially about the suitability of our mission here.
19.06.05.
Rev. Fr. Felix left for Trichy.
23.06.05.
All the boys of our ITI were given a T-short each by Bro. Chinnappa raj.
Rev. Bro. Chinnapparaj conducted a meeting for all the past students of Chandrabadi to speak about the work shop and how to carry out it. He divided the boys and formed them as a group and delegated the repetition. All the staff were present for the meeting. There were about 60 students presents for the meeting.
25.06.05.
Ms.Anto Davis, Diesel mechanic teacher left Tharangambadi after completing a batch of students for 3 months course.
Mr. Stephan who belong to Fr. Felix team came to teach dance and songs to the students of Chandrabadi.
Field volunteers meeting was conducted from 10.00 am to 4.00pm under guidance of Rev.Fr.Felix and Mr. Baskar Sr. Ranjitham animated them on health and hygienic. On the same day Sr. Ranjitham talked on health and hygienic to our ITI boys and girls.
26.06.05.
Mr. Dhanapal the staff of Don Bosco ITI Tharangambadi left for higher students.
29.06.05.
Sr. Ranjitham and Rose along with Mr. Anpu the field worker held a meeting at Marudha pallam village after their suggestion of conducted a tailoring center. Around 34 girls came for the meeting.
28.06.05.
Rev.Bro. Chinnappa Raj left for a meeting to Trichy and returned on the same day.

July -2005.

05.07.05.
CESVI team visited our ITI at Tharangambadi and collected the details.
Rev. Fr. Rayan and Fr. Casmir arrived at Tharangambadi.
The boat giving ceremony was conducted in a gathered and staged theater was displayed under the animation of Mr. Stephen, the cultural team of Rev. Fr. Felix.

06.07.05.
Rev. Fr. Amal Raj the provincial of Trichy province arrived along with Rev. Fr. Antony Joseph, the provincial economer. In the evening Sr. Gracy the vice- provincial arrived to visit relief work along.
A stage theature was displayed at Tharangambadi as past of the ceremony of boat giving .Our students from Chandrabadi ITI stage the cultural programmed. The CESVI team Don Bosco team and government officer were present for the gathering.
On the same day the work shop for Diesel mechanic and Electrical technician was inaugurate by Rev. Fr. Amal Raj the provincial and CESVI team.
Sr. Louides and gracy invited marudham pallam village.
07.07.05.
Sr. Lousder .Sr. Gracy Fr. Rayan Fr. Casmir, Fr. Felix visited the entire tailoring center. The students who completed the course from Chandrabadi and Perumal pettai were given the sareey by Rev. Sr. Lourder SMI.
08.07.05.
We had as evaluation and feed back meeting for all the staff of ITI under the guidance of Rev. Fr. Rayan , Rev. Fr. Casmir , Fr. Fliex .
Sr. Lourdes and Sr. Gracy along with Fr. Casmir returned to maduraj.
10.07.05.
Rev. Bro. Chinnappa Raj went for a retreat to Srimalai .

The construction for Maruthapallam new tailoring center was began today.
13.07.05.
Dalit children from 4 villages were provided with educational material by anbu illam staff.

Fishing women selling materials were given to 150 women in 5 villages.
Mr. Baskarn, Sr. Ranjitham and Rose went to Nagappattinam employment office to the programmed of EDP with Mr. Kalaiselvan D.E.O.

Rev. Fr. Felix returned to Tharangambadi after his retreat.
19.07.05.
Rev Bro. Chinnappa Raj came back after his spiritual retreat at srimalai.
20.07.05.
Sr. Lisyrose went along with Mr. Baskaran to invite Mr. Kalaiselvan the district Employment office and the team who supported to came for the EDP.
21.07.05.
Today we shifted 10 machine for tailoring center at Marutham pallam .The 10 machines were taken from Chandrabadi and Perumal pettai center. Rev. Fr. Casmir Raj arrived with a stand of mary help of Christian.
22.07.05.
One day work shop on enterprise for Tsunami affected young women was organized by Tamil Nadu women development corporation Dist. Industrial center, District. Employment exchange CESVI and Don Bosco network , in vazha valamudan marriage hall at Tharangambadi. The digmtaien of the programmed were Fr. Rayan, Fr. Casmir, Ms. Liza bay CESVI, prefacer mariya lazor,Mr. Baskar,Mr. Kalaiselvan DEO, Mr.A. Veerappan TAHDCO, Mr,.Raja mohan P.O ,Mrs.Sherine Amutha Their social worker Mrs. Shanthi and Preiyanayaki – Rural welfare officer ,were present for the meeting. Besides them Sr. Nancy SMI , the women leader susheela and Renuka were present. During the meeting the students staged 4 folk dance and one classical dance. All of them were provided with meals, cool –drinks and snacks. The programmed was conducted at 4 p.m.
23.07.05.
A new tailoring center was opened for the girls and young women at Marutham pallam Rev.Fr. Rayan cut the ribbon and Rev. Fr. Casmir Rev. Bro. Chinnappa Raj, Sr. Nancy, Mrs. Mallika anphazhan counselor, village youth leader Mr. shanmugam ,Anbu illam staff and CRP were present for the opening ceremony. A new tailoring teacher was appointed from kumarakudi.
The staff of Don Bosco ITI was given opportunity to attend a seminar on leadership by Rev. Fr. Fliex SDB.
Today Rev Fr. Rayan, Fr. Casmir Raj, Fr. Felix and Bro.chinnappa Raj fixed the land Kazhiyappanallur for the future stay of Don Bosco mission.
24.07.05.
A thank giving mass was celebrated by Rev. Fr. Casmir Raj and Fr. Felix in honour of Mary help of Christians. We prayed rosary before the statue of our blessed mother. We also decided to pray the rosary as a community everyday.
25.07.05.
Rev. Fr. Casmir Raj along with Sr. Nancy went to Maduraj. Rev. Fr. Rayan also left for Trichy . Sr. Rose went to Maduraj for shopping.
26.07.05.
Rev. Bro. Chinnappa Raj went to his community at Thanjavur and returned.
30.07.05.
The boys who completed Diesel mechanic and electrician course from chinnagudi ITI were given out certificated in a short gathering at chinnagudi. The panchayath president Mr. Periyanayaki was present for the gathering. Rev. Fr. Felix , Rev. Bro. Chinnappa Raj Sr. Ranjitham Mr. Shankar and the Anbu illam team were also present. The students were given tools and T-shorts with dryers by Skip NGO.

The fire accidence victims of Erakkattachery village were given steel vessels, box with lock, clothes, coins and other items like mat, soap, pant etc.
04.08.05.
The fire accident victims were provided with break fast, lunch, and supper. The meals were prepared in the house.
Prof. Christopher from Tirupattur, sacred Heart collage came along with 5 MSW students to study the self group of the village.
Mr. Arjun, the staff of Diesel mechanic left for new job in Chennai, Mr. Vijaya balan is appointed in his place to teach the student.
Mr. Dhanapal left for studies to maduraj (Polytechnic course) Sr. Ranjitham went to maduraj to visit her sick aunty.

Mr. Jerome came to teach folk dance for our ITI girls.
06.08.05.
Don Bosco network provided 48 T-short (4 sets) to Chandrabadi youth boys for Kapadi match, which was conducted on 7th August.
08.08.05.
Sr.Ranjitham returned back from Maduraj. Sr. Ranjitham and Rose went to Employment office met Mr. Kalaiselvan and went along with him to collect rate to meet the Dept of Handicapped people and social welfare department to speak about our students.

10.08.05.
Rev. Fr. Amal Raj susai came along with Fr. Rayan, Fr. Thommai and Fr. Antony Joseph to give out the boats to Pudupettai village. Mr. Manimaran, the panchayath president, Bro. Chinnappa Raj were also present for the gathering. Rev.Fr. Amal Raj susai Trichy provincial, Fr. Antony Joseph and Fr.Thommai left on the same day. 7 tailoring girls from our center who have completed their class 10th and 12th were sent for ITI to CSI Coimbatore.
11.08.05.Sr.Ranjitham and Sr. Rose went along with Mr. Kalaiselvan the Dist employment officer to service the tailoring machine for Elachy the orphan girl who has completed the tailoring course from our center. The Anbu illam team Community Organizers and CESVI team had meeting at TELC spiritual hall.
12.08.05.
Don Bosco ITI girls – Kapadi match was conducted under the animation of Mrs. Saraswathi SNEHA group leader. Bro. Chinnappa Raj was present for the match. A meeting was conducted by CESVI for Don Bosco Anbu illam team.
13.14.15.08.05.
Holiday for Don Bosco ITI and anbu illam. Ms. Chitra an orphan girl from our tailoring center was received sewing machine from social welfare deparment.
16.08.05.
Rev. Sr. Selvamani and Ms. Brinda the secretary of Family welfare association of maduraj diocese came along with Sr. Rose to conduct a seminar of personality development.
17.08.05.
Sr. Selvamani and Ms. Brinda conducted one day on personality development to our ITI girls.90 girls were present for the meeting.



18.08.05.
Sr. Selvamani and Ms. Brinda conducted seminar on personality development to our ITI boys. Around 50 boys were present for the seminar. Rev.Fr. Casmir Raj arrived from Maduraj.
19.08.05.
Rev. Fr. Francis Allencherry, the general counselor for Missions arrived along with Rev. Fr. Amal Raj . the provincial of Trichy and Fr. Rayan to visit and see the mission in Tharangambadi and other Tsunami relief work area. On the same day the distribution of boats at Perumal pettai was done. The children from evening tuition center Performed cultural programmed. They went back on the same day.

Rev. Fr. Rayan returned to salam.
21.08.05.
Rev. Fr. Casmir Raj and all the ITI team along with the Anbu illam team went to vellankkanni offered mass and prayer.
22.08.05.
Sr. Ranjtham and Lizy rose went to Chennai to meet Mrs. Mercy and the export agency for leather production to get some order for the handicraft girls.
24.08.05.
Sr. Ranjtham and Lissy rose went to meet Mr. Murugesan the officer for handicraft department in Nagappattinam collect rate. He spoke about the vacuum schemer available for handicraft. We celebrated the birthday of Sr. Ranjitham. On past of the celebration .we had dinner together with Anbu illam team.
26.08.05.
Sr. Ranjitham left for Bangalore for treatment. Mangudi one of the substation of Tharangambadi parish church blessed a new church. Rev. Bro. Chinnappa Raj and Rose participated in the celebration and the Holy mass.


27.08.05.
Mr. Vincent Raj conducted a seminar on towards a better society and also taught some awareness songs to our tailoring and handicraft girls.
September.
02.09.05.
Rev. Bro. Chinnappa Raj and Sr. Rose went to visit Mr. Kalia moorthy, the Dist Rehabilitation officer to speak about Miss Ramathilagam a deft child for the surgery. We also had discussion about the various activities through which the govt. On collaborate with Don Bosco.
03.09.05.
A seminar was conducted for ITI boys by Mr. Madhu balan an industrial. 45 boys were present for the meeting .All of them were provided with lunch, tea and snacks.

Vinayaka chadurthi is a holiday for centers.
08.09.05.
Rev. Fr. Rayan came to visit and had meeting with Bro. Chinnappa Raj and Mr.Baskar.

The past pupil meeting was conducted for Chinnagudi ITI boys by Bro. chinnappa Raj. They were given tea and snacks.

Past pupil meeting was conducted for Tharangambadi ITI students by Rev. Bro. Chinnappa Raj 35 boys were present.

Past pupil meeting was conducted for Chandrabadi ITI students by Rev. Bro. Chinnappa Raj 25 boys were present for the meeting.

25 of our IGP group members opened the individual account in the Indian bank. On the same day a seminar was conducted by Mr. Baskar MSW on a successful experience. They were provided with meals.
14.09,05.
Sr. Rose went along with students Parameswari to Coimbatore C.S.I. women’s collage to meet the student who were send from our ITI and returned on the same day.
15.09.05.
Sr. Ranjitham went along with Bro. Lourdu to Maduraj to purchase receive clothes for the bag making. A trained name David form Don Bosco ITI came to give training for the girls.
19.09.05.
Five each tailoring machine from Perumal pettai and Chandrabadi were shifted to Eduthukkatti new tailoring center.
20.09.05.
Miss. Prabha left home for study holiday as she is going appeal for the plus two exam. Bag making training programmed was began for the I.G.P. group members at Tharangambadi.
21.09.05.
Miss. Shankari and Vasuki went for 10 days training programme to Cuddalore on leather shoes. Sr. Rose went to reach them. Seven of our ITI girls registered their name on the self employment scheme at Mayawarm.
23.09.05.
A new tailoring center Eduthukatty was opened at 4 pm by Rev. Fr. Rayan SDB, Rev Bro. Chinnappa Raj, Mr. Baskar were present for the ceremony. All of them were provided with snacks.
26.09.05.
Mr. Abrigam from Chennai came to conduct classes on paper bag making, files, covers and envelopes. 67 girls were present for all training programmed. It was for two days.
October-2005
03.10.05.
Miss. Shankari and vasuki returned back to Tharangambadi after 10 days training programmed on shoe making at cuddalore.
04.10.05.
We gathered the girls at Thillayadi hoping to start a new center at Thillayadi .
06.10.05.
Rev. Fr. Amal Raj susai SDB, Provincial of Trichy province inaugurated a mew tailoring center at Thillayadi. Ram bakthavachalam theThillayadi panyath president was present for the function. More than 90 girls have taken the admission.
08.10.05.
Rev.Fr. Lourdu samy came from Alangulam to give training on bag.
11, 12.10.05.
Pooja holiday for ITI on 12th the Ayuda pooja was conducted in the entire center. The students were lead in a different way and al participated in the service.
15.10.05.
Rev. Fr. Felix sdb conducted an animation programmed for all the ITI staff at Anbu illam. Sr.Rajitham conducted life education law for Eduthukatti girls.
19.10.05.
Rev.Fr. Rayan visited in along with the CESVI team.

22.10.05.
Cover making training program was conducted in Thillayadi by Sr. Ranjitham and Rose.
28.10.05.
Mrs. Jayanthi from karikal, Best NGO came to conduct a seminar on women and boys in the society to Eduthukatti tailoring girls. The seminar was conducted in Eduthukatti convent. All of them were provided with meals and snacks. Deepavali was celebrated in the center at Tharangambadi, Thillayadi, and Eduthukatti. Mr. Baskar and Raja spoke on the Message of diwali and evil of creating in the entire center.

November-2005.

07.11.05.
All the people has were affected by the heavy rain and Don Bosco team provincial kesavan pallayam people for the breakfast for two days.
11.11.05.
Rev. Fr. Rayan reached Tharangambadi and had the visitation with the CESVI team to the site.
12.11.05.
Rev. Fr. Vincent and Fr.Marcel reached to have an meeting for the initial study of their mission in Tharanganbadi.
15.11.05.
Rev. Fr. Felix sdb conducted a seminar for the ITI boys at Tharangambadi.


17.11.05.
Mr. Kalaiselvan, Dist Employment officer and Mr. Suriyakala Dist social welfare officer came to distribution the certificate to the course completed students doing short function. Around 100 students participated.
19.11.05.
Parents meeting was conducted under the animation of Miss. Sherin amudha at Tharangambadi. Around 40 parents came for the function and 40 students also were present. One day work shop was conducted at Eduthukatti convent for the Eduthukatti young girls by Mrs. Sherin Amudha. 40 girls were present for the meeting.
20.11.05.
One day work shop was conducted at Thillaiyadi girls ( young women) under the animation of Mr. Sherin Amudha on the challenge. We face in the world and the important of self confident. Around 100 girls were present for the work shop.Rev. Fr. Santhanam SDB reached Tharangambadi for his research work.
23.11.05.
Animation program at Marudam pallam by Rev. Fr. Santhanam SDB and Sr. Ranjitham on family life education and women sole in the society .50 young women participated in the seminar.
28.11.05.
Sr. Ranjitham and Rose went to Union officer to collect the details on the loan available.






December-2005 .

05.12.05.
Rev. Fr.Rayan visited Tharangambadi Organization program in Thiruvidaikazhi tailoring center.

06.12.05.
Opening ceremony of Thiruvidaikazhi tailoring center by Rev. Fr. Rayan. The village leader Fr. Felix and Fr. Santhanam were also present for the meeting. Send off program for Fr. Felix as he completed his mission in Tsunami relief work.
07.12.05.
Rev. Fr. Rayan and Felix left Tharangambadi.
12.12.05.
Orientation meeting at Thiruvidaikazhi ITI for the young men and women on the trader welding , Diesel mechanic and tailoring.
13.12.05.
Thiruvidaikazhi ITI was closed down due to some serious reason. The welding classes are shifted to Chinnangudi and the Electrician and diesel mechanic classes are shifted to Tharangambadi.
17.12.05.
Certificate are distributed by Bro. chinnappa Raj and panchayat council to all the 17 girls who completed their tailoring course successfully. The same day cultural programs were conducted in hour of Charismas.
19.12.05.
Cultural program were conducted at Eduthukatti tailoring center in hour of Christmas.


20.12.05.
Christmas function was conducted at Thillaiyadi and Thiruvidaikazhi center. The students participate in different program and showed their talent.
21.12.05.
Tharangambadi ITI students both boys and girls celebrated Christmas together with many cultural programs. During the function certificated were distributed for the course completed tailoring girls.
23.12.05.
Christmas celebrations were conducted for the staff and management. Rev. Fr. Amal Raj provincial of Trichy province was the chief guest. During the function Sr. Ranjitham was given the farewell by all the staff and management.
